ANNAPOLIS, Md. A report released by the Pentagon says the number of reported sexual assaults at the nation's three major military academies rose in the latest academic year from one year earlier. The Defense Department's "Annual Report on Sexual Harassment and Violence at the Military Service Academies" covered the academic year 2010-2011. It found there were 65 reports of sexual assault involving cadets and midshipmen at the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Military Academy and the U.S. Air Force Academy. That's up from 41 reports in the prior year. The Pentagon can't conclusively identify reasons for the increases but said efforts to encourage more victims to report abuses could help explain the higher numbers.Defense Secretary Leon Panetta issued a statement that authorities are bidding to "eliminate sexual assault" from military campuses.

panies from China, Angola, Algeria and others. Few of those companies are seen as having the capital or experience of the Exxons or Shells of the world.Exxon Mobil has not commented on the deal since it was announced by the Kurds in mid-November. Officials from the company did not respond to requests for comment. If the deal goes forward, it would be an enormous vote of confidence for the Kurds' oil policy and could open the door for other majors to jump in."This is a further step for the Kurds' autonomy in the federated Iraq," Theodore Karasik, an analyst at the Dubai-based Institute for Near East and Gulf Military Analysis said. For the company, the deal's benefits are obvious. It allows Exxon Mobil to retain a share of the profits from the oil produced while the service contracts offered by Baghdad provide the firms with a flat fee per barrel of oil produced for their services. The Kurds win the coup of netting a major company. Travel proponents want to add nations whose residents are unlikely to illegally move to the U.S., including Argentina, Brazil, Poland and Taiwan.Tourists from the rest of the world, including India, China, Mexico and other nations with affluent travelers looking to use their passports, must obtain a nonimmigrant visa. The process can be expensive and time-consuming.People living far from a visa processing center must arrange travel to the interview location, not knowing whether they will be approved. Roughly 78 percent of all tourist visas were approved so far in 2011.Tourism proponents want the department to embrace videoconferencing as a way to interview more people quickly. The department has no plans to implement videoconferencing interviews because of safety a

nd drones to stop ships from sailing through the narrow waterway.Iran's navy claims it has sonar-evading submarines designed for shallow waters of the Persian Gulf, enabling it to hit passing enemy vessels.A closure of the strait could temporarily cut off some oil supplies and force shippers to take longer, more expensive routes that would drive oil prices higher. It also potentially opens the door for a military confrontation that would further rattle global oil markets.Iran claimed a victory this month when it captured an American surveillance drone almost intact. It went public with its possession of the RQ-170 Sentinel to trumpet the downing as a feat of Iran's military in a complicated technological and intelligence battle with the U.S.American officials have said that U.S. intelligence assessments indicate the drone malfunctioned.

Post, "Ben's retirement is a huge loss for Nebraska. I am very sad he's leaving. That is as far as I am going (right now)."Democrats acknowledged the party will face a steep uphill battle to hold on to Nelson's seat, but pointed to a crowded Republican primary field with no obvious front-runner. The contenders include Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning, state Treasurer Don Stenberg, state Sen. Deb Fischer, and investment adviser Pat Flynn."This virtually guarantees a Republican victory in 2012," said University of Nebraska Lincoln political scientist Mike Wagner. "There's almost no scenario in which a Democrat can win -- especially at this late stage."National Republican party leaders also have encouraged Gov. Dave Heineman to join the race, but Heineman has said it would take a lot to persuade him to run.The Senate's Democratic campaign chairman, Sen. Patty Murray of Washington, said she expected that Republicans would "have their hands full with a very divi

ased on the challenges she faces in her daily life.My view of her was unschooled, but there were many surprises along the way as I did research, Streep told FoxNews.com at the films New York premiere. For instance, to find out that she didnt even have a cook flabbergasted me. How do you have that big job running the United Kingdom for 11 and a half years and not have someone cook you dinner? The films director, Phyllida Lloyd, told FoxNews.com that she understood how touchy the subject matter was, and she offered Thatcher and her children the opportunity to be the first to screen the film, an offer they declined.[Thatcher] has been the subject of so much satire; shes been lampooned and criticized, Lloyd said. So I can understand their anxiety in putting her on-screen with dementia.Edwina Currie, Junior Health Minister under Thatcher, wrote that even though the films focus on the former leaders frail health and old age was at times insensitive and irrelevant, sh
