I couldn't reproduce this issue. If you still think there's a bug inside grml-
live/grml2hd at any stage regarding /var/tmp please feel free to reopen the
bugreport. I'm closing the bugreport now.

Alright, thanks.

Ok, thanks.

The more we discuss it, the more I think it is my own error. but
please double check it once you have some time, just in case.

I checked grml64-medium-lenny_20090315.iso, and presumed that it
should be fine for the rest of isos since they all come out the same
way from grml-live.

So the live mode has /var/tmp in grml64-medium-lenny as well as in
grml64-medium-sid, right?

grml2hd just copies whole filesystem including /var - so I've no
idea how it should get lost within grml2hd.

I've double checked that medium_lenny_20090315.iso does have the
/var/tmp folder. So it will be for grml64-medium-*sid* isos as well.

Might it be that grml2hd ingored copying/creating it? Or I
accidentally deleted it somehow...

Hm, strange. I'm wondering where this derives from. :-/

I don't have a 64bit machine nor grml64-medium_lenny_20090315.iso
available right now. If /var/tmp isn't present on a hd installation
it shouldn't be present in the live system as well. Can you please
verify this, Tong? Do you know whether it's available in
grml64-medium-*sid*? (No problem if you can't/don't want to verify
it, I'll do it on my own as soon as I've access to an according
setup otherwise.)

Hi,

The /var/tmp folder is missing as the result of the grml2hd
installation from grml64-medium_lenny_20090315.iso. I am not sure it
is grml64-medium_lenny_20090315.iso itself or grml2hd's problem. so
just a heads-up.

Missing the /var/tmp folder will cause some weird problems to xorg --
modification keys don't work any more.

For example, I can't even switch virtual consoles. Ctrl-Alt-F1 gives a
beep and ";5P". Shift-Fx keys don't work in my editors either.
