We don't ship neither pump nor the relevant dhcp/hostname script nowadays and nobody cared about working on that, marking as dead.

I think the code has to be rewritten to get the hostname by dhcp if available and otherwise set to grml. Care has to be taken if dhclient is too slow and grml has booted to login prompt before the dhcp lease was received.

I wonder if this is really a good idea nowadays. Getting the hostname from DHCP should be fine though (which probably also doesn't work atm?).

It seems that in our current live-boot repo the code for setting the hostname from the dns information (ptr record) does not longer work. See http://bts.grml.org/grml/issue679 for the old bug report
