The debug option of current Grml ISOs provide that feature, please notice that 
it's *not* "debug" but requires an argument like "debug=1". So closing this 
issue.

Yes, this issue is on my wishlist as well. A cleanup of live-initramfs (the 
relevant package for this stuff) is planned (by panthera from debian-live), 
I'll keep an eye on it.

Hi,

it would be great if the algorithm searching for the GRML file would - 
optionally - be a little more verbose.

This could be accomplished by strategically adding optional echos like "trying 
to mount $sysblock" in scripts/live inside the initrd. It would help very much 
to be able to see _where_ my boot process hangs.
