grml-x does its job and I don't see any benefit in creating a xorg.conf if the
user even doesn't start X.org later on. So I see it as a benefit for grml users
to execute grml-x just on demand and avoid any additional code/tools. Closing
this bugreport with "won't fix" therefore.

yes, good point. grml-x does has it none-replaceable value.
how about let (enable) Debian Live detects and creates xorg.conf as the
first-try, since the feature is there already. If it fails, user can still use
grml-x.

What should be the benefit?
grml-x supports cmdline options debian-live doesn't provide us. It's
not just a xorg.conf we need but provide a userspace tool for
creating a xorg.conf doing what you specified on the cmdline.

Hi,
Since Debian Live detects and creates xorg.conf on the fly, maybe we could make
use of it and deprecate grml-x?
Debian Live can also use xdebconfigurator as well.
