noacpi/nolapic/... seems to help, AFAICT this is a hardware issue. Closing this issue as it can't be reproduced by someone else.

Feel free to remove the release-stopper tag From IRC: [22:13:03] < markinfo> it finds usb hub .... but no usb device is detected when plugged in. [22:13:33] < markinfo> at least there is usb hub in lspci Works with 2009.10
