Yeah, I already talked to upstream of initramfs-tools. The
maintainer is willing to support such a feature. I'll meet the
maintainer in RL in the next few days and we will further discuss it
(and probbably implement it as well ;-)).

AFAICS only the busybox shell inside initramfs could be relevant,
