The fail safe boot does the same as does the "pci=nomsi" and doesn't boot. I found the pci=nomsi when xfx said they didn't support linux only windows but I have loaded all the linux distro's/live boots/installations with the pci=nomsi added to the kernel of the boot string. The grml does not see my hdd partitions and I have many of them. I thought it was different that the flash drive could be seen. But it doesn't see my HDD????

It was a shock to me. I have several computers but only have to put the pci=nomsi on the xfx motherboard hdd linux partitions so they can load, i.e. find the disk partitions when installing or booting from them. They have to be adjusted each time there is an upgrade to most distro's.

Thanks for the quick response. I am enjoying your "grml". I have one system that the 32 and the 64 bit grml doesn't load at all. Do you want info about this machine????
