Update: I just ported the kernel driver to 2.6.21, but I did not check the 
conflicts with speakup yet.

SuSE provides updated sbl packages too, but we have to work on a Debian package 
(base work on Sebastian's http://sebastianandres.de/linux/download/sbl23b-
debian.tgz) first of all:
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/blinux/src/sblsrc-3.0e.tgz
