I think it is ok to have a full pdf viewer and i like the size and depends from 
epdfview.

example: debian testing

formorer mentioned epdfview on IRC, which would be 3,713kB

the UI of epdfview is better than the others, imho
zathura and mupdf have no buttons, zathura has some vim-like keybinding, though

as discussed on IRC, having a PDF viewer (in -full) would be great.
my personal "have a look at" list contains zathura mupdf xpdf, as these seem
small enough from the first glance. evince and okular fall out due to big deps
(of course).

based on grml64-full_2012.05.iso, the packages and deps add:
mupdf 6,423kB
zathura 4,007kB
xpdf 5,450kB

zathura can be easily extended to read DjVu too, which results in 6,221kB in total

UI/usability is yet to be tested/analyzed
