does this issue still exist with Grml release 2014.11?

well, sorry, for no msg since the last days, but after mounting the new
fan, the device won't start up at all any more. mainboard crashed on
unknown error. today arrived a new one of same type (was in warranty)

ok, now I've checked the build967 of grml (loaded it some days before)
but same issue occures. but now I#ve started in debug-mode and made a
photo of the screen I'm attching to this mail.

problem seems to occure at newly added pioneer-blueray-writer, which is
definitely empty. the grml-stick is at sdb
kernel just freezes.

but: the 3.12.23 on the ssd boots without any failure, so it's not a
permanent failure due to systematic hardware-problems.

this device is connected to a ASM1062-Controller in a mini-pcie-slot

if you need futher info, please ask, I'll try to trace down this issue
as deep as needed, because grml was a real great help in many situations
with various computers at friends for a longer time and I hope, that
this will continue.

There's an entry "Debug Mode" (which basically drops the "quiet" boot option and
enables) "verbose debug=vc" instead in the boot option menu.

latest stable (2014.03 grml96), chosen 64bit-entry

haven't checked this yet. I can give it a try next days, because I have
to exchange a fan, which needs a shutdown of the system.

Additionally this woulb be a possibility to give the boot-cmdline any
parameter, which might give additional information while searching for
the boot-device  --  are there any, I should try?

after loading the kernel grml search it's boot-device, but on one system
this freezes the whole system, that even the reset-button doesn't work
any more - I have to switch the device off.

because I've tested this pc with grml before I've put the components
together, I know, that it must correspond to one of the additional
cards, so I've made a short test, without two additional SATA-cards.

at least, if I put an additional mini-PCIe-Card with an ASM1062 into the
pc, grml freezes again.

but: there are two onboard ASM1062, which don't make any problems with grml.

(I think, there's at least an empty blueray-burner connected to the
first port, but I've forgotten to check this explicitly last time)

because it's somehow strange I don't think, that this can be easily
reproduced and unfortunately I can't make as many tests, as I want,
because the pc runs as a server.

but from time to time I'll get the possibility to try to boot grml...

is there any possibility to trace the boot, to get what there's exactly
happening?
