Basically works nowadays, noticed some funny race conditions during bootup, but
might be kernel related stuff so closing this issue now. If we notice problems
with use of alsamixer in grml-autoconfig in the wild[tm] we should handle that
in a separate bugreport. Thanks for your work, Ulrich.

z3ttacht, are you still working on this issue? I just received another
bugreport:
# amixer set Front unmute
amixer: Invalid command!
I'd like to fix the aumix/alsamixer issues for the upcoming release.
Alex/z3ttacht: Please let me know the current state regarding this issue. I
haven't heard anything from you even though I pinged you several times. If you
don't react within the next ~2 weeks I plan to work on this issue on my own.
JFTR: re-titling the bugreport and making it a release-stopper issue.

aumix(1) seems to depend on module snd-mixer-oss. Which isn't loaded
by default.
